How to buy a bike

Online bike-buying made simple

Finding your perfect bike online is easy and buying it is just as simple. Here, you'll find all the tools and guides you need to find the bike that meets your needs, fits your budget, and helps you tackle your two-wheeled ambitions.

We recommend looking local first. The bike you want might be closer than you think! If your bike is in stock at a local retailer, you can get it a lot sooner.

But don’t worry — when you buy a bike online you’re still supporting your locally-owned Trek retailer. They’ll build, test, and install any accessories you need before hitting the road. Plus, they’ll be your point of contact for all service and warranty needs.

And if at any point during your search you need to talk to a real person, our support staff is available via phone Monday through Friday at 800-585-8735.

Expert advice from Trek

Online resources are great, but there’s nothing like a real person. You can connect with your local Trek retailer directly or call us at Trek Headquarters Monday through Friday at 800-585-8735. We’re here for you.

Every rider deserves a bike that fits and feels great, no matter their body type, style of riding, or level of experience. That's why we make great bikes for everybody and every body.

The best fit for you depends primarily on your height and inseam. That's true whatever your gender, as gender matters far less in finding the bike that's best for you than other factors.

The Trek Size Finder

Each bike model page has a sizing chart with frame size recommendations. But, if you need a little help determining the bike size that’s best for you, use our Size Finder. All you need is a measuring device for your height and inseam.

If you fall between sizes, we recommend contacting your retailer or giving us a call at 800-585-8735 (M–F) for a quick consult.

Looking to size a kids' bike?

When a kid is on a bike that fits well, they’ll be more confident, happier, and have better control. Check out the kids’ bike guide to find the best size for your little ripper.

As you search for your new bike, you’ll be able to see whether we’ve got it in stock or if it’s available at a Trek retailer near you!

If it’s not in stock at your Trek retailer, you can order it from us, and we’ll ship it to the Trek retailer of your choice. If it is in stock, you may be able to reserve or buy it online and pick it up in-store — either way, you can always call to confirm the bike’s availability, then make your way to the shop.

The Store Locator

Shop local products using our Store Locator. This online tool allows you to search for specific products and displays stock and purchase options for participating retailers near you.

Product Locator

Each of our product pages features a Product Locator. Use the widget to verify stock online or in-store at your local bike shop. If your retailer has it available and accepts online orders, you can buy or reserve it from them directly with just a few clicks.

Adding all the bells and whistles can bring your ride to the next level. Lights, pedals*, helmets, bottles, kickstands, and more can be added and installed on your bike at the shop, or included with your online order. Trek retailers offer tons of accessories you can browse in store — but if you know what you're looking for, we can always ship to your home or local shop.

*Many bikes include pedals, but some do not. If your bike is photographed without pedals, they will not be included with the bike.

Registration is a quick and easy way to protect your new-bike investment. It provides a record of your serial number in case your bike is ever lost or stolen and will help us get in touch with you with important product information.
