A lot of exciting changes were made to the this new generation of the Trek Blaze helmet. Blaze now features an improved WaveCel liner that is lighter and cooler than its predecessor, thanks to larger cells and an optimized use of material, and still provides the same level of protection. The helmet also features more coverage - specifically removable 3/4 ear protection. This removable coverage provides a ton of flexibility, allowing you to choose the best "helmet" for the day. A magnetic breakaway, 3-position visor and a goggle optimized design round out the new creature comforts featured in this great helmet.

Are the helmet pads replaceable? 

Yes, the helmet pads are replaceable.  Replacement pads can be ordered on Trekbikes.com.

Are the helmet pads washable? 

The helmet pads can be washed by carefully rinsing by hand in lukewarm water and air drying at room temperature. 

What type of fit system does the Blaze use?

The Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet features a BOA fit system that delivers a micro-adjustable precision fit that has been engineered to perform in the toughest conditions.

How does the adjustment dial work?

The Trek Blaze features a BOA fit system. Turn the dial clockwise to tighten, and counterclockwise to loosen. It's that simple!

What type of strap divider does Blaze use? 

The Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet uses an adjustable divider that is easily adjusted for the perfect fit.

What type of buckle does Blaze use? 

The Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet uses a FidLock buckle to ensure a secure fit.

What sizes are available? 

Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet is offered in three sizes: S (51-57cm), M (54-60cm), and L (58-63cm). To determine the right size of helmet for you, simply measure the circumference of your head using a cloth tape measure or a piece of string and a ruler. Be sure to measure horizontally across the brow and over your ears, then use the bike helmet size chart below to find the proper helmet size based on the measurement.

The Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet weighs 385g without ear protection and 500g with ear protection.

What is the helmet made of? 

The Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet is made of numerous materials, consisting of the plastic WaveCel liner, a protective foam layer made of EPS, and a polycarbonate shell. The remaining materials consist of various types of nylon and plastic.

How long will the helmet last? 

Once a helmet is removed from its packaging, factors like UV exposure begin to degrade its quality. To ensure maximum protection, it's important to replace your helmet immediately after any crash or impact. If the helmet is used frequently, we recommend replacing it every three years to maintain its effectiveness.

What safety standards does the helmet comply with?

Trek Blaze WaveCel helmet complies with U.S. CPSC safety standards for bicycle helmets, the EU CE safety standards for bicycle helmets, the AS/NZS safety standards for Australia and New Zealand, and ASTM standards.
