How expensive is it to check a bike?

Good news, bike checks are free! We'll take a look and let you know what's going on, no charge.

How much do bicycle mechanics charge per hour?

We don't do hourly rates. We keep it simple with fixed-price service packages, and they're usually a better deal!

How much do bike shops charge to fix a puncture?

Most of the time it's about $15 if you just do it by itself. If you bundle it into a service package, labor is 60% off.

How much does it cost to replace bike parts?

It depends on the part. It could be $6, or it could be $150. If you go with one of our service packages, a lot of those parts are included -- like a full drivetrain swap is included in our Level 2!

How much does it usually cost to repair a bike?

Most service packages start around $90 and go up depending on what your bike needs.

How much is an average bike repair?

A solid once-a-year tune-up usually lands around $150.

How much is it to patch a bike tire?

We don't patch tubes

How long should it take to service a bicycle?

Quick stuff can be done in about an hour. Bigger jobs usually take a couple days depending on the queue. If it's going to take longer, we've got loaner bikes to keep you rolling.

Are bikes high maintenance?

Some are, yeah. The more high-tech the bike, the more upkeep it needs. Especially with internal cables or electronic parts. Those need a little extra love.

Is it cheaper to buy a new bike or fix an old one?

Rule of thumb: if repairs are more than half the value of the bike, it's usually time to start thinking about something new.

Is it worth it to repair a bike?

If the fix is going to cost more than half the bike's value, it might not make sense. But it depends on how much you ride and what the bike means to you.

Is repairing a bike hard?

Some stuff is easy. Some stuff... not so much. Things like brakes, electronics, and compatibility can get tricky fast. That's where we come in!

Is it worth rebuilding an old bike?

Sometimes, yeah. But if you're spending more than half the bike's value, it's usually better to look at a new one.

What is bike repair called?

If we're keeping your bike running smooth, that's service or maintenance! If something's broken and needs fixing, that's repair!

What is the average lifespan of a bike?

Frames can last a really long time---sometimes a lifetime. Most parts wear out in a couple years depending on how much you ride.

What is the most common bike repair?

Definitely flat tires. It happens to everyone.

Do you tip bicycle repair?

Nope, no need.

How much should I pay for a good bike?

Rough starting points:
- Regular bikes: around $600
- E-bikes: around $1,200
(And yes, we usually have some solid deals below that too.)

Can you repair a bike yourself?

You can definitely try, but some stuff needs special bike tools and know-how. If it gets complicated, we've got your back!

Can I service my bike myself?

For sure. Basic stuff starts at home. We even do clinics to show you how.

Can a carbon frame be repaired?

It can be, but it's tricky. It voids the warranty and can change how the bike rides. We don't do those repairs, but there are companies that specialize in it if you want to go that route.

How do I fix a flat tire on a bike?

Best way to learn? Come to one of our free flat repair clinics! We'll happily walk you through it.
