What’s different about the FX Sport AL frame compared to previous versions?

This is a brand-new frame has all the features of the carbon FX Sport SL but on a lightweight Alpha aluminum frame.

What grade of aluminum is used on this bike?

Alpha Gold Aluminum

What is the fork made out of?

FX Sport AL 3 has a lightweight carbon fiber fork.

What type of bottom bracket does it use?

Threaded, 68mm width

What is the seatpost diameter?

27.2mm

What is the rear brake mount?

This model uses a flat mount disc brake with max 180mm rotors front and rear.

What is the weight of the complete bike?

FX Sport AL weighs 25lbs

Is the frame compatible with electronic shifting groupsets?

Yes. FX Sport AL is compatible with electronic shifting groups.

What is the wheel size?

FX Sport AL 3 is made for 700c wheels and tires up to 42mm wide (with and without fenders).

Are these bikes tubeless compatible? What additional parts are required?

FX Sport 3 AL does not come with tubeless compatible wheels and tires.

What is the hub spacing?

Rear spacing is 135mmx5mm and the front is 100mmx5mm.

What is the maximum chainring size? Minimum chainring size?

For the 1x configuration, the maximum chainring is 44T. While there is no minimum recommendation, running too small of a front chainring may cause interference with the chain stay.

Can I run a 2x?

Yes. The frame will accept a 34.9mm low band clamp-style bottom pull front derailleur. Max chainring sizes on a 2x setup are 46/32.

What is Shimano CUES?

CUES drivetrains utilize Shimano’s LINKGLIDE technology to greatly reduces drivetrain wear compared to non-LINKGLIDE components – up to triple the durability. LINKGLIDE also enables smoother shifting both up and down the cassette.

(NA ONLY) Does it have any accessory mounts (kickstand, racks, fenders, lights)?

It has rack and fender mounts, as well as low rider rack mounts on the fork. It also has frame bag mounts under the top tube. Depending on bike size and frame bag used, you will mostly likely need to use straps to secure the bag in addition to bolts. It also has mounts for a rear mount kickstand (562609) or (W330289).

(EU ONLY) Which accessories are included on the Equipped model?

This model includes an integrated MIK rear rack, fenders, and front and rear lights.

What lights are compatible?

Any standard front and rear lights will work.

Is it compatible with trailers?

Yes. Make sure that there is enough axle thread/nut engagement if using an axle-mounted hitch.

Will water bottles fit with the frame bag mounted?

Depending on the water bottle size and the load of the frame mounted bag, water bottles can fit. Both should be considered when planning for longer adventures.

Is FX compatible with a suspension fork?

No, FX is not compatible with a suspension fork.

What Headset System does it use?

FX Sport AL has an 1 1/8" headset. Replacement parts are available:
