Origin logo – Primary

The Origin logo is our preferred brand mark. It identifies where it all began: the middle of America, in the middle of the 1970s.

Where to use it
The primary origin logo works best as a stand-alone branding mark that doesn't compete with other design elements. The small text requires a minimum size of 10 cm wide (the actual width of the logo file). It's ideal for t-shirts, vehicle graphics, wall graphics and shopping bags. The text must be clearly readable.

Where not to use it
Never use the primary origin logo smaller than 10 cm wide, on busy layouts where it competes with other elements or for 3D applications like acrylic lettering. This logo is NOT suitable for embroidery.

Localisation
We recommend that you use the primary origin logo in the original English. If you really want a translated version, DO NOT localise the logo yourself.
Contact brand@trekbikes.com to request approved art.

Origin logo – Secondary

Where to use it
The secondary origin logo is for use smaller than 10 cm wide, when the text of the primary origin logo wouldn't be readable. It's ideal for business cards, swag, etc.

Where not to use it
Never use the secondary origin logo larger than 4"/10 cm wide (at that size, use the primary version), or on busy layouts where it competes with other elements. This logo is NOT suitable for embroidery.

Localisation
We recommend that you use the secondary origin logo in the original English. If you really want a translated version, DO NOT localise the logo yourself. Contact brand@trekbikes.com to request approved art.

Ride Bikes Logo – Primary

The Ride Bikes logo is an invitation from Trek to the world: ride bikes, have fun, feel good. Use it when you want to welcome people to the brand and invite them to join the ride.

Where to use it
The primary Ride Bikes logo works best as a stand-alone branding mark that doesn't compete with other design elements. The small text requires a minimum of 10 cm wide (the actual width of the logo file). It's ideal for t-shirts, vehicle graphics, wall graphics and shopping bags. The text must be clearly readable.

Where not to use it
Never use the primary Ride Bikes logo smaller than 4"/10 cm wide, on busy layouts where it competes with other elements or for 3D applications like acrylic lettering. Do not use on exteriors of buildings or in cases where this may be the customer's first interaction with the brand. That is what the BSG and Origin logos are for. This logo is NOT suitable for embroidery.

Localisation
hattIt's okay to use a translated version of this logo, but DO NOT localise the logo yourself. Contact brand@trekbikes.com to request approved art.

Word mark logo

This is the word mark that appears on the downtube of modern Trek bicycles. Use it only when the Origin logo or Ride Bikes logo would be too small to be readable or too busy for the context.

Where to use it
The word mark is ideal for use with small sizes and for digital applications, or in circumstances where you want clear, at-a-glance brand recognition: email headers, web ads, event tents and flags, jerseys, product and swag. The works mark logo works well down to a minimum of 1.25 cm wide (print) or 120 pixels wide (digital).

Where not to use it
Don't use the word mark in cases where the Origin or Ride Bikes logo would do.

Embroidery logo

The embroidery logo is a simplified version of the origin logo, designed for clean reproduction when embroidered.

Where to use it
The embroidery logo is for use ONLY on custom-embroidered clothing approved by the Trek marketing or retail teams. Minimum size will be determined by the embroidery supplier. The text must be clearly readable.

Where not to use it
Don't use this logo anywhere other than approved embroidered clothing.

Contact brand@trekbikes.com to request approved art.

Bikes Service Gear logo

The Bikes Service Gear (BSG) logo lets customers know what they can expect to find at a Trek retail location.

Where to use it
The primary use for the BSG logo is exterior signage for Trek-branded shops. The logo is also suitable for vehicle graphics, sponsorship logos, event materials, business cards/letterhead, window graphics and promotional swag or gift cards.

Note:
The rules are different for Trek-branded and non-Trek-branded shops. In all use cases, the BSG logo must be at least 5 cm wide. At sizes smaller than that, readability suffers. The text must be clearly readable.

Non-Trek-branded shops:
Shops that are not named Trek may use the BSG logo with these limitations: it may not be your primary exterior signage, and you may not exceed the maximum width of 96.5cm or 33% of the width of your primary exterior sign, whichever is smaller.

Where not to use it
Don’t use the BSG logo in cases where it's smaller than 5 cm wide. This logo is NOT suitable for embroidery.

It’s fine to use a translated version of this logo, but DO NOT localise the logo yourself. Contact brand@trekbikes.com to request approved art.

Location Logo

The Location logo allows Trek-named retailers to add a specific geographic location to the Trek word mark.

Where to use it
The Location logo works best on items that will be viewed away from the shop – vehicle graphics, team kits, t-shirts, print or outdoor advertising, email headers, shopping bags, business cards, letterhead, sponsorship logos and swag.

The Location logo must be at least 5 cm wide. At sizes smaller than that, readability suffers. The text must be clearly readable.

Where not to use it
Don't use the location logo in cases where it's smaller than 5 cm wide. This logo is NOT suitable for embroidery, and is NOT for use on exterior signage for shops.

This mark was made to be localized – but DO NOT create your own location logo. Contact brand@trekbikes.com to request approved art.

Trek Authorised Retailer Logo

The Trek Authorised Retailer logo lets independent Trek retailers announce their association with the Trek brand. The Authorised Retailer logo is intended for Trek retailers who do not use the Trek name. If your shop is named Trek, refer to the Trek logotypes mentioned above.

Legal notice: the logo and the standards that follow are ONLY for use by authorised Trek retailers.

Format
The logo consists of a black box containing the Trek word mark, a horizontal dividing line and the words 'authorised retailer', all in white. You MAY NOT change or embellish the logo in any way. The black box is part of the logo. You may not use the logo without it.

Hierarchy
You may never use the Authorised Retailer logo as your primary logo. It must be clearly secondary to your shop logo.

Maximum size
The logo is designed for use as a window decal, blade sign or plaque with a maximum width of 61 cm.

Localisation
You may submit a request to Trek to have the words 'authorised retailer' translated. You MAY NOT create your own localised version of the logo. Send any requests for translation to brand@trekbikes.com. Minimum turnaround time is five working days.

Colour
The Authorised Retailer logo box is black, and its contents are white. No other colour variation is allowed.

Bontrager Word Mark Logo

In 1980, in a garage in Santa Cruz, California, Keith Bontrager began engineering quality parts and thoughtful accessories that held up to the demands of modern riders. Today, Bontrager carries forward that same legacy of craftsmanship.

Format
The Bontrager word mark logo is our preferred Bontrager brand mark. You MAY NOT change or embellish the logo in any way. Honour the clear space around the work mark, as shown in the file. This clear space is part of the logo and may not be modified.

Where to us it
The Bontrager logo works best as a stand-alone branding mark that doesn’t compete with other design elements. It’s ideal for t-shirts, vehicle graphics, wall graphics and shopping bags.

Colour
The Bontrager logo may only be shown in Trek’s standard brand colours of red, white and black.

What about the shield?

We will continue to use the shield as our headbadge. It should not be used to represent the brand in any other touchpoints.

Alterations and proportions

Don’t alter your logo in any way. Never squeeze, stretch, pinch or scale the word mark disproportionately for any reason.

Legibility

The logo must be easily readable. Avoid busy backgrounds that limit visibility.

Colour

Choose a colour and stick to it. Use only one colour for all elements of the logo (including text beneath the logo, if any).

Clear space

Don’t violate the clear space around the logo. The logo requires empty space on all sides equal to the height of the T in Trek.

Lock it up

The Trek logo should not be locked up with Bontrager, Electra or any other brand logos.

Corporate fonts

The following fonts make up the standard Trek typeset. You may occasionally see Trek marketing items that use other fonts. Only the creative teams at Trek HQ are authorised to stray from these standards.

Ringside
Ringside is our preferred typeface for both headline and body copy. Ringside Condensed Bold should be used for headlines and subheadlines. Ringside Regular Book should be used for body copy.

We use Ringside for:
– Headlines (sentence case)
– Subheadlines 18 pt or larger
– Miscellaneous text 18 pt or larger

You may not use this font unless you purchase it, which you can do at The following fonts make up the standard Trek typeset. You may occasionally see Trek marketing items that use other fonts. Only the creative teams at Trek HQ are authorised to stray from these standards.

System fonts

Our standard System Fonts are chosen for their clarity and because they're easy to read on computer screens. We use them in presentations, emails and other office documents.

Arial
We use Arial for general documents and PowerPoint presentations. We do NOT use it for email.

Calibri
Calibri, in regular weight, is our email font. It is clean, compact and more readable than Arial at small sizes on screen.

Web Fonts

We use two font families that manage the bulk of the content on the web.

Avalon-Bold
Avalon-Bold should be used for headlines to denote different sections of content.

Roboto
Roboto is an easy-to-read font that should be used for paragraph styling.

Business cards & letterhead

We used to print tons (literally) of business cards and letterheads. These days we're printing fewer and fewer of each.

e-letterhead
Office printers are so good these days that ordering preprinted letterhead is unnecessary for most of us. Our e-letterhead template is probably all you need.

The template includes a logo, a footer and placeholder text set in Arial, our designated font for office documents. You can requests files from the brand team brand@trekbikes.com*

*Retail outlets have their own e-letterhead layout. You can request the files from retailops@trekbikes.com

Business cards
First, ask yourself: when is the last time I gave out a business card? If you really use them, contact trek_purchasing@trekbikes.com to order new cards.*

*Retail outlets have their own business card layouts. To order retail cards, contact retailops@trekbikes.com.

Email signature

An email signature is not required. If you decide to use one, there are three things you need to know about Trek’s approved signature format:

1. Do not use the Trek logo
2. Calibri is the approved email font
3. Approved signature example below

Cynthia Cyclist | Project Manager | Trek Bicycle | +1 920-478-2191 x00000

Presentations

You'll find a PowerPoint template with approved slide formats at the link below. Know them, use them, love them.

Trek presentation guidelines
1. Always use the approved template and designated font: Arial.
2. Your first and last slides should be the Trek Origin logo on black or red.
3. Choose one of the approved slide layouts from the template.
4. Don't put the Trek logo anywhere else in your deck.

Swag

Everybody loves swag but not every bit of swag needs a Trek logo. A staff shirt for your event that'll be worn afterwards – yes. A foam beer cooler – probably not.

Approval
You must have your item approved by your Territory Marketing Director before you print or embroider the Trek logo.

Clothing
We work hard to ensure that the approved, on-brand casual clothing is in stock at all times. Before you begin working on casual clothing that will carry Trek branding, please check inventory. It's very likely that we have already created something that will fit your needs.

Sustainability
Cheap, disposable single-use items like balloons, pens and straws should never carry the Trek logo. Please choose an item with a longer lifespan, or none at all. This is non-negotiable.

Before you order anything with the Trek logo on it, you must consider its environmental impact-materials, manufacturing, shipping etc. The Trek logo is not to be used on foam or plastic unless it is made from recycled material or the item itself is recyclable. All paper must be sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified sources and be 100% recycled content. This is non-negotiable.

A note about suppliers
Trek only works with suppliers that adhere to our brand's sustainability standards. No vendor should print the Trek identity on unrequested samples or swap your requested item for cheaper, less sustainable, options. Vendors that violate our standards forfeit the privilege of working with Trek.
