Employee profile: Tati Koufopanteli, LIFE Camp

In the summer of 2020, Trek store manager Tati Koufopantaeli was looking for ways to get more involved with the youth in her community. With Trek’s support, she partnered with a non-profit called Life Camp to help get kids from underserved communities involved in cycling. Over eight weeks, the program gives students mentorship and training to enter the workforce—and all students who complete the program are guaranteed a position with Trek.

Mason Nevels
Sales Associate to District Manager

“Starting as a Sales Associate, I was fortunate to work with some of the best teams in the business. Through their mentorship and encouragement, I was able to progress to roles such as Store Manager and RTC Trainer. It was an honor to work with such dedicated and motivated individuals, and together we achieved great things. Becoming a District Manager was a humbling experience, and I'm thankful for the hard work and support of those around me that made it possible.”

Cal Koehler
Part-time Sales Associate to District Manager

“Trek’s leaders show genuine compassion for our team members, both personally and professionally. When I missed three weeks of work because of an unexpected medical issue, I received a call from the North American Director of Retail to check if I was okay and encourage me to take as much time as I needed before returning to work. The culture attracts amazing individuals from varied backgrounds who I feel lucky to work with.”

Amanda Bayer
Store Manager to Retail Training Manager

“Trek is a place where you can truly build a career and make a difference. I joined Trek in 2018 when they acquired the store I was working with. The opportunities for growth and development have been amazing, from attending the first-ever Store Manager Orientation in Waterloo to becoming the Retail Training Manager in 2021. I currently lead a team of professionals who create global training content for retailers and direct-owned stores, and we're passionate about turning part-time jobs into industry careers. I'm proud to be a part of this team and excited to see what the future holds.”

In June 2020, we published our commitment to equity and detailed the steps we’d take to fight systemic racism in the cycling industry and beyond.

Trek’s not-so-basic benefits

Sure — offering a 401k isn’t revolutionary. But creating a great environment for our employees has long been a company value at Trek. We’re always looking for ways to improve our employees’ home and work lives, and we expand what’s available to them every year.
