It's right for you if...
You appreciate the subtleties of fine craftsmanship and design. Also, you are looking for the most fun four legs can have on two wheels.
The tech you get
Get the best of both worlds with a step-over frame in the front, and step-thru position in the back, making the potentially awkward mount and dismount of a tandem somehow actually look cool. Components include a chromoly fork, Shimano Nexus Internal 7-speed gearing and front and rear roller brakes for smooth-braking.
The final word
Tandems aren't for everybody. They're for two bodies. The Modern DLX 7i is about as good as it gets when it comes to quality and style. The Matte Cream frame is lightweight, beautiful and easy to maneuver. The clean, minimal styling gives it a low-pro look. As low pro as two weirdos on a tandem can be.
favorite_borderWhy you'll love it
- Riding is always better with a friend and it's basically impossible to not have fun on this bike.
- Lighter and easier to ride than the tandems of the old days.
- Infused with Flat Foot Technology for comfort and control.
- Comes with two contrast color bells so you can ring at each other.
Features
Flat Foot Technology®
Flat Foot Technology® has been awarded not one, but two patents. Yeah, kind of a big deal. You really need to ride an Electra to feel it, but the overall benefit is comfort and control. It provides an upright, relaxed seating position with proper leg extension that allows you to plant your feet flat on the ground whenever you want or need to.
Internal Gear System
Internal or i refers to a system that houses all the gears inside a weatherproof rear hub. Internal multi-speed hubs are available in 3, 5 or 8-speeds and have wider gear ratios. Internal gear systems are low-maintenance, easy-to-use and allow you to change gears without pedaling or even standing still. It's not magic, it's engineering.

Sizing & fit
The charts below show our recommended sizes based on height, but there are some other factors, like arm and leg length, that determine a great fit. That’s why you’ll see some overlap in our recommendations. Not every rider who’s 5´8˝, for example, will fit on the same size bike. The best way to find your perfect fit is to consult the experts at your local retailer.
