Donate to World Bicycle Relief and help empower entire communities with bikes

World Bicycle Relief provides purpose-built Buffalo Bicycles to people in rural regions across the globe who often have to walk long distances to accomplish everyday tasks. Since 2005, Buffalo Bicycles have helped kids get to school, health workers to patients and farmers to market.

A donation to World Bicycle Relief in any amount helps under-resourced communities get the tools they need to conquer the challenge of distance and achieve their goals. And from now until 31 December, Trek will match all donations up to US $500,000.

Four reasons to give to World Bicycle Relief

You’ll help children get an education

Education is the great equaliser for rural children, but distance can be a barrier. Bicycles help students overcome any challenges they may face in getting to school.

You’ll help increase access to healthcare

With two wheels, health workers are saving lives. They're working to combat COVID-19, eliminate malaria, teach health and nutrition, and visit more housebound patients.

You’ll help boost local economies

On a bicycle, farmers and entrepreneurs can increase their carrying capacity, earn more income and improve the quality of life for their families and communities.

You’ll help improve the lives of women and girls

Investing in women and girls will change the world. With bicycles, they can access education, healthcare and livelihoods to break the cycle of poverty and thrive.

Wozani, village head

Wozani travels 10 km a day to spread news within the community and mediate disputes in the traditional court. His bicycle helps him fulfil his leaderly duties and gives him extra time to perform income-generating activities and connect with his family.

Smile, student

Smile, whose favourite subject is maths, dreams of becoming an accountant one day. Because her bicycle significantly reduces her travel time, she now has the energy to pay attention in class and gain the education she needs to pursue her dream.

Levison, conservation ranger

Levinson wakes early each morning to protect communities against predators such as lions and hyenas. He travels up to 30 km per day, and his bicycle helps him cover more distance in less time.

Locadia, childcare worker

Locadia plays a vital role in the community as a mother, childcare worker and women’s savings group facilitator. Thanks to her bicycle, she can access more community members than ever before.
