What should I know about the frame?

The Checkpoint+ SL is a full carbon frame designed specifically for the TQ mid-motor.

What is the geometry?

The Checkpoint+ SL's new Gravel Endurance geometry is revamped with a shorter and higher reach for a more comfortable, accessible and capable all-day ride.

What is the maximum tyre size?

Recommended tyre clearance standards for this model have changed. Accurate values can be found in specs on each bike model page.

Can you put a suspension fork on this model?

Yes! This model is compatible with gravel suspension forks that are e-bike approved. We offer models with both rigid and suspension forks. The Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS comes with a 40 mm RockShox Rudy suspension fork mounted, while the Checkpoint+ SL 5 and 6 AXS come with a rigid fork.

Max rotor size?

160 mm front, 180 mm rear.

What is the hub spacing?

100 x 12 mm front, 142 x 12 mm rear.

What sizes does Checkpoint+ come in?

The Checkpoint+ SL 5 and 6 AXS come in sizes XS to XL. The Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS comes in sizes S to XL since it comes with a suspension fork that’s compatible with that size range.

Max chainring size?

44T.

What kind of bottom bracket?

The TQ HPR60 motor has an integrated bottom bracket and ISIS spindle.

Is it compatible with 30 mm spindle cranks?

No, this model is not compatible with 30 mm spindle cranks.

Is the Checkpoint+ 1x only, or is it also compatible with 2x?

This model is only compatible with 1x drivetrains as it uses the TQ mid-motor.

Does it have accessory mounts?

Yes! It has mounts for a rear rack and mudguards. Sizes M-XL also have mounts for the Adventure Triangle Bag. Sizes XS and S do not have mounts for the Adventure Triangle Bag, but are compatible with the bag using straps.

Do these bikes come tubeless-ready?

Yes – all Checkpoint+ SL come with tubeless-ready wheels, tyres, valves and TLR sealant.

What is the chain line?

49 mm.

Is this bike compatible with electronic drivetrains?

Yes, this bike is compatible with 1x electronic drivetrains.

Can clip-on extensions be installed on this bike?

Yes, the GR Elite (Checkpoint+ SL 56) and GR Pro (Checkpoint+ 7) handlebars are compatible with clip-on aero bars (max torque 13.5 Nm).

Is it compatible with a dropper post?

Yes.

What is the motor power/output?

The TQ HPR60 motor provides 350W max power output.

How do I change assist levels?

You can easily toggle through assist levels with hood-mounted controls that let you keep your hands on the bars.

What type of charger does it come with? How long does it take to charge the battery?

It comes with a TQ 2-amp charger, which charges fully in approximately 3.75 hours.

How much does the battery weigh?

1,835 g.

Is the battery removable? What if I need to replace it?

The battery should only be removed by a trained technician. Please see your local Trek retailer for replacement batteries.

Is there a Range Extender?

Yes! There is a TQ Range Extender available that will mount on the downtube or seat tube in a bottle cage.

What items are needed to fit the Range Extender?

You’ll need the Range Extender battery, a water bottle cage for the Extender battery and the road-length TQ cable to connect it to the charging port.

Do you need different size cables for mounting the Range Extender on specific size bikes?

There’s a cable that works for all size road bikes. 325 mm long.

What’s the range?

The range of this bike varies significantly depending on things like rider weight, assist level, tyre choice, riding surface, terrain and more. With that in mind, you can expect up to 50 miles / 80 km with the internal battery and up to 90 miles / 145 km with the optional Range Extender.

What’s the warranty for the e-system, and how do I file a claim?

There is a two-year warranty on the mid-drive motor and battery. All warranty claims should be processed through your local Trek retailer.

What hanger does this bike use?

Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH).

What e-system display screen comes on my Checkpoint+?

The Checkpoint+ SL 5 & 6 AXS come with the black and white TQ display 5289562. The highest spec level, Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS, comes with the new colour interface TQ display 5343942.

Can I use the Trek Central app with this e-bike?

Yes! You can easily connect Trek Central to the Checkpoint+ SL for additional features like motor tuning and range estimation.
