Trek Bicycle Hoppers Crossing is your destination for the latest products from Trek and Bontrager, service and tune-ups for bikes of any brand, and local advice on the best riding in the greater Melbourne area. Our bike shop opened in March 2016, and is conveniently located 23 km southwest of Melbourne on Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing. We are passionate advocates for the local cycling community, and love to talk bikes with anyone who will listen. We also support a number of local riding groups. Stop in for advice or a tune before heading out for a ride at You-Yangs National Park or along the Federation Trail. We frequently host shop rides, in addition to in-store clinics and information sessions on a diverse array of topics, including basic maintenance. Stop in to see us soon! Recommandation

Ensuite, nous vous parlerons de ce que nous pouvons faire pour remettre votre vélo en piste en vous suggérant un forfait d’entretien complet, en faisant des réglages sur place ou en remplaçant certaines pièces. Avant de commencer, nous vous soumettrons aussi un devis détaillé des réparations et des réglages, de manière à ce que vous n’ayez aucune surprise une fois le travail terminé.

After a bike wash and thorough deep clean of the drivetrain, we’ll true and tension the wheels, dial in your brakes, tune and lube your shifting to perfection.

Level 2 includes everything from the Level 1 plus:
• Remove and deep clean all drivetrain components
• Lateral and vertical wheel true

Additional 50-hour Suspension Service Recommended for Mountain:
• Fork seal and rear air can service

Recommended every 100-hours
The entire bike stripped, cleaned, lubed, and tuned to perfection.

Every bolt, every bearing, every part. We’ll start by stripping your bike to the bare frame for a deep clean and inspection, then we’ll re-lube inner surfaces and rebuild it. If it’s been a while, or if you have put serious miles in all-conditions, this one’s for you.

Level 3 is everything included in Level 2 plus:
• Disassemble entire bike and deep clean all parts
• Overhaul and replace all bearing systems
• Flush and replace hydraulic brakes
• Replace and re-route all cables and housing
• Overhaul front and rear mountain bike suspension and dropper post

Replacement parts not included in service package price.

How expensive is it to check a bike?

Evaluations and Multi Point Inspections are always free.

How much do bicycle mechanics charge per hour?

Trek Mechanics do not have an hourly labor charge. Labor is a fixed rate with Packages that are heavily discounted.

How much do bike shops charge to fix a puncture?

The average flat fix labor is $15 a la carte but is 60% off in a service package

How much does it cost to replace bike parts?

These vary drastically from $6 to $150 depending on the component. Our Level 2 service package includes a full drivetrain replacement as part of the package and costs around $175. 

How much does it usually cost to repair a bike?

Service Packages start around $90.

How much is an average bike repair?

$150 is common for the cost of annual maintenance.

How much is it to patch a bike tire?

We do not patch tires/tubes. Labor rates for a patch are the same as a new tube installation, which will guarantee that the issue is resolved.

How long should it take to service a bicycle?

On the spot work is usually completed in an hour or less. All other work averages 70 hours. We offer a loaner program when we are unable to meet a timeline and no parts need to be ordered.

Are bikes high maintenance?

The more complicated the bike, the more standard annual maintenance is required. Newer bikes tend to have more integration requiring additional work to service internal systems. Additionally, most electronic systems require diagnostics and updates annually.

Can a carbon frame be repaired?

Carbon repairs void the warranty on any bike and change the characteristics of a bike itself, possibly distributing force in ways which were not intended by the manufacturer.
If you decide to seek carbon repair, there are many companies that offer such services.
However, we advise that you thoroughly and independently research options to make an educated decision. For these reasons, at Trek, we do not suggest, nor offer, carbon repairs on any of our bicycles or other brands, including repainting. However, we are happy to assist with any disassembly or reassembly of a bicycle.
