Hub-driven power

Tucked neatly behind the bike’s cassette, Hyena’s HyDrive lightweight rear hub motor assists you the moment you start pedaling or press the throttle. The pedal-assist intuitively detects your input to provide a smooth 40Nm-60Nm of torque that adds ease and speed to your ride, and naturally drops power when you coast for handling that feels just like a traditional bike. Select models also include a simple throttle that boosts you with the press of a button to climb hills, carry gear, or cruise with ease. Plus, it’s so compact you can hardly see it, and it can be customized with the Trek Central App.

One smooth ride

Hyena systems use a torque sensor that acts as a real-time motion detector. When force is applied to the pedals, it sends this data to the system controller where Hyena’s smart e-bike algorithm uses your pedaling input to deliver smooth support.

The Trek-exclusive Hyena battery features a lightweight, compact design that fits neatly inside the bike frame for a look that mirrors a traditional bicycle while reducing weight for easy handling, storing, or traveling.

All Hyena e-bike batteries are rigorously tested by third-parties and UL certified to give you peace of mind whether you’re on a ride or your bike is parked in the garage.

Ready to ride farther?

When you want to take the long, long, long road home, you can give your Hyena battery an extra boost with a Trek-exclusive Range Extender. Simply plug in the 250Wh extender to double your assisted distance. Not compatible with FX+1 or Townie Go! with throttle.

Intelligent control

Hyena bike come with either a simple HMI LED controller or the HMI Full-Color Display controller. The Hyena HMI LED controller has a minimalist design that displays only the most important information, like speed, battery life, and support level, so you can focus on the ride and skip distracting data. Its clean and simple buttons let you easily change modes while you pedal. The HMI Full-Color Display controller on select models has a super bright screen with easy to read details so you can quickly see the info you need at-a-glance and large buttons make assist level changes easy.

Hyena controllers employ automotive-grade processor and CAN-based connection design for rapid and reliable communication between all the electronic components and adapting advanced bionic computing.
