The Cruiser frame features our Flat Foot Technology® for a relaxed, upright riding position and comes in Step-Thru and Step-Over frame styles. Our 2025 Cruiser models feature an aluminum frame, which is lighter weight and more rust-resistant than previous models.

What are the appropriate tire sizes with and without fenders?

Cruiser models come with 26 x 2.125" RetroRunner tires. Electra strongly recommends adhering to the original tire size.

How many gears does this bike have?

The Cruiser 1 is a single-speed bike, while the Cruiser 7D features a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, giving riders flexibility for flat roads and mild hills.

Is this bike good for beginners or returning riders?

Yes! It’s designed for comfort and ease of use, making it perfect for new or returning bikers.

Can I ride this bike in the rain?

Yes, the tires offer good grip on wet surfaces. Note: Riders should always use caution in wet conditions as grip is lower and brakes may not be as effective when wet.

What kind of brakes does this bike use?

The Cruiser 1 has coaster brakes, while the Cruiser 7D uses linear-pull brakes for consistent stopping power.

Yes, Cruisers come with a kickstand. All models are compatible with aftermarket fenders, lights, and rear MIK racks.

Does this bike have wiring for lights? What lights are compatible?

No, Cruiser models do not have wiring for lights, but are compatible with Electra aftermarket products like the Retro Headlight (SKU 590174) and Safety Front Bike Light (SKU 1051857), as well as widely available bike lights.

Is this bike compatible with child seats?

Yes, Cruiser models are compatible with child seats when paired with an approved bike rack that has been tested and rated for child seats.

Yes, Cruisers are compatible with bike trailers.
