CHROMA – Project One premium bike paint scheme

Chroma

Project One premium bike paint schemes

Made famous by the pros. Made especially for you.

Once only offered to Trek’s pro riders, Chroma quickly caught the attention of racing patrons around the world. Today, it’s one of the most in-demand paint schemes in the Project One family, with a palette that continues to expand.

Chroma is currently available in eight all-new colourways: Mirror, Gold, Ivy, Pink, Root Beer, Ruby, Sapphire and Violet. You can also get this stunning paint scheme through the Project One ICON series.

A modern nod to a metallic icon

The Project One Chroma paint scheme is proof that if it were easy, everybody would be doing it. The metallic look made popular in the 80s and 90s has resurfaced as one the most requested designs in the paint shop. But unlike chrome plating decades ago, dialling in Chroma’s intricate process took Project One team members nearly five years of trial and error.

The team was challenged with creating a chrome finish that would adhere to carbon fibre and use a much cleaner method than chrome bikes of the past, which often required toxic chromium materials.

In 2021, their efforts paid off as the first Chroma bikes made their global appearance at the Tour de France, launching the design into the spotlight.

Since then, the Project One team has continued to refine, improve and experiment with Chroma’s many possibilities. While its exact recipe remains top-secret, the colourway reigns as one of the most technical schemes in the paint shop. Every Chroma bike takes more than 12 hours to paint, start to finish to give each frame that truly one-of-a-kind look.

Chroma is only available through Project One on Madone SLR models.
