It's right for you if...

You're an all-mountain junkie who lives for the fun only a long-travel trail bike can deliver. You love carving descents and throwing down style on new lines, and you want the best 27.5" bike you can get.

The tech you get

A lightweight full OCLV Mountain Carbon frame, a FOX Performance 38 Float 160 mm fork with a GRIP damper and 150 mm of rear travel with a FOX DPX2 shock that offers loads of adjustability and tuning options. Plus, a SRAM GX Eagle 1x12 drive train with leg-saving lower climbing gears, Bontrager Line Carbon 30 wheels with a 54T Rapid Drive hub for fast engagement, a carbon handlebar and a Bontrager Line Elite Dropper.

The final word

Remedy 9.8 is a carbon long travel bike with amazing suspension and a solid parts group that's light enough to stay quick on climbs. It's a perfect all-around trail bike for riders who love smashing berms and post-ride beers.

The Walkthrough

favorite_borderWhy you'll love it

  1. The Remedy 9.8 ploughs through the gnarly stuff, but still likes getting loose on jumps and berms
  2. You’ll fade before the FOX DPX2 shock does – it's built to help you squeeze the most out of long, gnarly descents
  3. The FOX Performance 38 fork's stiffer stanchions help you stay on your line through chunky descents, while the GRIP damper lets you dial in the feel
  4. Mino Link lets you make small adjustments to your geometry quickly and easily, even mid-ride
  5. Wider is more stable: Remedy has clearance for up to 27.5x2.8˝ tyres

Features

Active Braking Pivot

Active Braking Pivot allows our engineers to tune how the suspension reacts to acceleration and braking forces independently. That means you get more confident control when you need it most.

Straight Shot w/Knock Block

Trek's Straight Shot frame design optimises the stiffness-to-weight ratio for a more responsive ride. You'll be able to push harder and stay more planted on your line when the going gets rough.

Will my bike have a curved top tube?

Will my bike have a curved top tube?

Smaller frames (S) have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This design makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. The larger frames (M and ML) have a straight top tube because taller riders with longer legs typically don’t have the same issues with standover height.
