It's right for you if...
You like getting rowdy on rough trails. Your wheels leave the ground often, and you want an alloy bike that's durable enough to handle whatever you throw at it. You don't shy away from gnarly trails. Your bike shouldn't either.
The tech you get
A light and tough Alpha Platinum Aluminium frame, a 160 mm RockShox Lyrik Select Plus fork with a plush DebonAir spring and Charger 2 RC damper that gives you more adjustment and control and 150 mm of rear travel with an exclusive RE:aktiv rear shock. Plus, a Shimano XT 12-speed drive train, Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes for more stopping power, a Bontrager Line dropper post and Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels.
The final word
It's our highest-end aluminium Remedy. The durable alloy frame, 27.5˝ wheels and premium suspension make it the perfect ride to dish out and stand up to some serious abuse on the trail. If you're measuring your rides in rad per pound, you won't do better than Remedy 8.
favorite_borderWhy you'll love it
- This is our best blend of performance and value in the Remedy family: an Alpha Platinum Aluminium frame with the same spec as much higher-end bikes makes this model a smokin' deal
- RE:aktiv damping keeps the shock firm for efficient pedalling and pumping, and instantly soaks up bumps to keep you in control
- It surfs down rough trails and conquers jumps with sure-footed confidence, then flies back to the top with its extra-low 51-tooth climbing gear
- Mino Link lets you make small adjustments to your geometry quickly and easily, even mid-ride
- The shifter-style, underbar remote dropper post lever is super intuitive and easy to use
"I was blown away"
"I was blown away at how stiff the new Remedy is. Just right for aggressive trail riding. The sum of the parts adds up to a greatly refined bike, but perhaps the biggest story is the increased value."

"Overnight, the Remedy has become our new favourite test bike in the quiver. It's snappy, responsive and accelerates like a rocket ship."

"There might be similar bikes out there, but Trek’s suspension is worth paying for. This bike smooths junk out better than anything I’ve ridden before."

"Really good at slow-speed technical terrain, an exceptional climber and holds its own almost everywhere else. Better than ever."

Active Braking Pivot allows our engineers to tune how the suspension reacts to acceleration and braking forces independently. That means you get more confident control when you need it most.
Trek's Straight Shot frame design optimises the stiffness-to-weight ratio for a more responsive ride. You'll be able to push harder and stay more planted on your line when the going gets rough.
RE:aktiv technology gives you firm support for efficient pedaling that instantly gives way for smooth control when the trail turns rough.
Will my bike have a curved top tube?
Smaller frames (S) have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This design makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. The larger frames (M and ML) have a straight top tube because taller riders with longer legs typically don’t have the same issues with standover height.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless Ready rims and tyres make it easy to ditch the tubes so you get better traction, fewer flats and less weight. The rim strips are already installed; just add TLR valves and sealant.

Mino Link adjustable geometry
Fine tune head tube angle by 1/2° and BB height by up to 10mm with the simple turn of a nut. Just flip the link to choose between slack or slacker geometry, without negatively affecting suspension performance. A Trek exclusive.

Control Freak cable management
The lightest, quietest, most versatile cable management system allows any combination of shift, brake, lockout and dropper post lines to be routed through the frame for clean looks and the ultimate custom set-up.
