It's right for you if...
Every ride is break time. You've graduated Mountain Biking Basics, and now want a real trail bike that you can throw around – one that's not shy about trying new lines, leaving the ground and blasting through anything on the trail. You want a solid parts group and a durable frame, and you want it at great value.
The tech you get
An Alpha Platinum Aluminium frame with 150 mm of rear travel and a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock. A 160 mm RockShox Gold RL fork with a plush DebonAir spring and a robust SRAM NX Eagle drive train. Plus, completely tubeless Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels and tyres.
The final word
What really makes this bike great is that it handles and rides like a bike that costs twice as much. That's because it's designed the same way as our top-end Remedy: for a playful ride you can count on when the trail gets rowdy.
favorite_borderWhy you'll love it
- Remedy 7 combines an ultra-capable frame and shock with tough, no-fuss parts that keep the stoke high and the cost low
- 29er wheels are great for other people, but 27.5˝ wheels are livelier and more fun on rugged trails
- The shifter-style, underbar remote dropper post lever is super intuitive and easy to use
- Wider is more stable: Remedy has clearance for up to 27.5x2.8˝ tyres
- Mino Link lets you make small adjustments to your geometry quickly and easily, even mid-ride
Features
Active Braking Pivot allows our engineers to tune how the suspension reacts to acceleration and braking forces independently. That means you get more confident control when you need it most.
Trek's Straight Shot frame design optimises the stiffness-to-weight ratio for a more responsive ride. You'll be able to push harder and stay more planted on your line when the going gets rough.
Will my bike have a curved top tube?
Smaller frames (S) have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This design makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. The larger frames (M and ML) have a straight top tube because taller riders with longer legs typically don’t have the same issues with standover height.

Complete Tubeless System
Tubeless Ready rims and tyres make it easy to ditch the tubes so you get better traction, fewer flats and less weight. You're ready to roll straight out of the box with the included TLR rim strips, valves and sealant.

Alpha Platinum Aluminium
Our premium lightweight aluminium is continuously cold extruded and butted at multiple points, and hydroformed into sophisticated tube shapes for maximum strength and minimum weight.
Control Freak cable management
The lightest, quietest, most versatile cable management system allows any combination of shift, brake, lockout and dropper post lines to be routed through the frame for clean looks and the ultimate custom set-up.
Mino Link adjustable geometry
Fine tune head tube angle by 1/2° and BB height by up to 10mm with the simple turn of a nut. Just flip the link to choose between slack or slacker geometry, without negatively affecting suspension performance. A Trek exclusive.

Boost148/110
Wider dropouts (110mm front, 148mm rear) give you the stiffness of a 27.5" wheel with all the benefits of a 29" wheel, and Boost148 at the back lets you run wider tyres and a larger chain ring without affecting q-factor and pedalling efficiency.
