The process

Our in-house painters are thoroughly trained to master the art of Tie Dye, which is one of the most advanced techniques used in the Project One paint shop. The process begins with a white base coat before pastel or traditional tie dye colors are added to the frame. Each color needs to be carefully applied and blended to get gradients of each hue, and painters have to imagine a center location of the frame to give each bike that radial, tie-dyed pattern you’d find on a t-shirt.

Each section is then painted as if the entire frame was tied with rubber bands, dyed, and rinsed — just like you’d do at home. The result? An always fashionable, one-of-a-kind bike paint scheme you can’t get anywhere else.
