Maybe you haven’t heard the name before, but keep it in mind as this Trek supported rider is definitely going places. Ruby races in the youth category for Maindy Flyers CC and she has been taking this season’s cyclo-cross by storm with some impressive wins.

At Round 4 of the Cyclo-Cross National Trophy at Peel Park in Bradford, Ruby took her second win of the series and moreover gained the coveted blue jersey, denoting her as the Series leader. She got off to a good start and after the first corner kicked on even harder, overtaking her main rival: “I knew I had to get away from the group, so I kept pushing and pushing all the way throughout the race. There were some really tricky sections that were off camber and deep with mud. They slowed me down, but I managed to increase the lead. After the bell on the last lap, I went for it and finished 37 seconds ahead of Hannah Shenton (Team Chance) who took second.” The final round of the series will take place next month in Derby, so Ruby is well placed to take the Series win.

What’s more, just the weekend before, Ruby became Welsh Cyclo-Cross Champion in the Youth Girls category, beating many of the boys! There’s no stopping her and we’re sure glad she’s on board! Watch this space…..
