On February 20, 2012 Bontrager and Cyclingnews.com will broadcast what has been dubbed the “Hullabaloo in Waterloo”; a bare-knuckle bicycle drag race pitting the burgeoning talent of Axel Merckx’s Bontrager-LIVESTRONG team against the cantankerous cohort of Bontrager’s Waterloo, WI-based development team. The event, to be live webcasted on Cyclingnews.com beginning at 4pm US CST will transform Trek Bicycle’s office atrium into a sprinter’s stadium as it plays host to a raucous rampage of rouleurs in a Pros vs. Joes competition for the ages.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing Madison for the first time.” Said Bontrager-LIVESTRONG rider Lawson Craddock. “Oh yeah, and I guess we have to race some old guys at the factory or something.”

“Youth will be served? No, youth is going to GET served,” replied Bontrager Brand Manager and Hullabaloo promoter Michael Browne.

The two opponents, facing off for the first time ever, could not make for a more intriguing matchup. In the Bontrager-LIVESTRONG U23 corner, wearing the black and yellow shorts, the future of road racing arrives as a roster of lightening-legged lightweights. While in the Bontrager Brand corner, wearing the red shorts, Bontrager’s in-house development and engineering team brings a sleeper set of pavement powerhouses with a varying range of road racing resumes.

Will the fresh faces of the U23 team get a badass Bontrager-branded beat-down from their pedaling progenitors, or will the next generation of road champions take these masters of the masters’ category to the cleaners? Watch the blow-by-blow broadcast live on Cyclingnews.com to witness who will have the fast-twitch fitness to take the title home.
