Story Highlights

  • Trek Bicycles Australia donates a Team Issue Astana Cycling Team Trek Madone 6.9 Pro for auction
  • All proceeds to go to Cancer Council South Australia

Lance Armstrong recently kicked off his 2009 season—and his return to professional cycling—at Australia’s Tour Down Under. While he was in the Land of Oz, Trek’s Australian subsidiary office—working alongside his LIVESTRONG Foundation—managed to get Lance to sign a special Astana team-replica Madone 6.9, which Trek Australia has donated to auction to help generate funds for the LIVESTRONG Foundation. For its part, the LAF has agreed to pass all of the money generated from the auction back to the Cancer Council of South Australia to help fund its cancer research efforts. As an added bonus, the South Australian Government has agreed to donate $3 for every $1 raised in the auction, making this auction not only your chance to get a sweet new bike and an important piece of cycling history, but also effectively quadruple your pledge to the worthwhile cause of cancer research in Australia. Bidding closes on January 31st, so place your bid today!
