Trek Foray Mountain Shoe FAQ

What is METNET?

Hot foot, numbness and tingling are not new issues for people who ride bikes – it's just a part of the sport. But, with Trek's METNET technology, it doesn’t have to be that way. METNET is a new innovation, proprietary to Trek, engineered specifically to alleviate those issues. Through a responsive design that allows the shoe to stretch and compress around the forefoot, METNET helps to bring relief to those common foot discomforts. When you feel better, your ride is better.

How does METNET work?

METNET provides stretch in areas of the shoe that most commonly cause foot-related discomfort or pain, specifically around the ball of the foot at the first and fifth metatarsal heads and the fifth metatarsal tuberosity. Stretch is created by laminating a uniquely perforated synthetic upper with a stretchy backer, creating a zone of relief in those key areas of the foot.

What is the Trek Comp Last?

Trek Foray features the Trek Comp Last, which offers a performance shape with a slightly roomier fit from the ball through the mid-foot. Relative to the Trek Pro Last, the Comp Last feels more relaxed. This last was designed using 3D foot scan data to create a last that better matches the average riders' foot shape.
