It's right for you if...
You're an all-mountain junkie who lives for the fun only a long-travel trail bike can deliver. You love carving descents and throwing down style on new lines. You're a ride or die kind of mountain biker, and want a bike you can handle – not one that handles you.
The tech you get
A lightweight full OCLV Mountain Carbon, a Fox Performance 36 Float 160 mm fork and 150 mm of rear travel with a FOX Performance Float shock with Trek's exclusive RE:aktiv with Thru Shaft damper. Plus, a SRAM GX Eagle 1x12 drivetrain, Line 30 carbon wheels with a 54-tooth Rapid Drive rear hub for fast engagement, a Bontrager Line Elite Dropper and SRAM G2 RSC hydraulic disc brakes.
The final word
Remedy 9.8 is a carbon long-travel bike with great suspension and a solid parts group that's light enough to stay quick on the climbs. It's a perfect all-around trail bike for riders who want a big, no-compromise build, and a quick, capable all-mountain ride.
favorite_borderWhy you'll love it
- The Remedy 9.8 ploughs through the gnarly stuff, but still likes getting loose on jumps and berms
- 'Wait for me,' said no Remedy rider ever – this bike has a lot of travel, but it's also extremely quick on the flats and climbs
- RE:aktiv with Thru Shaft works faster than a normal shock, so it tracks the ground better and keeps you in control
- It has all the latest tech that adds up to a great ride, like a 54-tooth Rapid Drive hub, Mino Link adjustable geometry and Boost148/110 hub spacing
"I was blown away"
"I was blown away at how stiff the new Remedy is. Just right for aggressive trail riding. The sum of the parts adds up to a greatly refined bike, but perhaps the biggest story is the increased value."

"There might be similar bikes out there, but Trek’s suspension is worth paying for. This bike smooths junk out better than anything I’ve ridden before."

"Really good at slow-speed technical terrain, an exceptional climber and holds its own almost everywhere else. Better than ever."

Active Braking Pivot allows our engineers to tune how the suspension reacts to acceleration and braking forces independently. That means you get more confident control when you need it most.
Trek's Straight Shot frame design optimises the stiffness-to-weight ratio for a more responsive ride. You'll be able to push harder and stay more planted on your line when the going gets rough.
RE:aktiv with Thru Shaft gives you unmatched grip and control with a shock that reacts to the terrain faster than anything else out there.
Trek's mountain-specific carbon fibre is tougher carbon, with unique materials and lay-up procedures, Trek's advanced engineering, and a higher standard of testing.
Learn moreWill my bike have a curved top tube?
Smaller frames (S) have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This design makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. The larger frames (M and ML) have a straight top tube because taller riders with longer legs typically don’t have the same issues with standover height.

Complete Tubeless System
Tubeless Ready rims and tyres make it easy to ditch the tubes so you get better traction, fewer flats and less weight. You're ready to roll straight out of the box with the included TLR rim strips, valves and sealant.
