It's right for you if...
You want to up the adventure level on your recreational rides, and want a fast and rugged hybrid bike with quality parts that will withstand daily commutes, fitness rides on light trails, rail trail tours, and more.
The tech you get
A lightweight aluminum frame, a suspension fork with a lockout feature, and a simple 1x10 Shimano drivetrain that ditches the front derailleur for easier operation. Don't worry, the wide-range 11-46 cassette still gives you all the gears you need to conquer hills and crush flats. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, tubeless ready rims, puncture-resistant all-terrain tires, ergonomic grips, and a Blendr stem for easy accessory integration.
The final word
Dual Sport 3 is fast and efficient on pavement and confident and capable on dirt trails. It has upgrades on the parts that make the biggest difference in performance, like the simpler, lighter-weight Shimano 1x drivetrain, tubeless ready rims, and puncture-resistant tires.
favorite_borderWhy you'll love it
- The 1x drivetrain gives you all the gears you need and none you don’t
- The fork's hydraulic lockout feature ensures you're always riding efficiently: close it for smooth pavement, open it up on rougher trails
- A wide range of gearing means you never have to pedal too hard or too soft, even on the biggest hills
- It's easy to accessorize with racks, a kickstand, fenders, lights, and fitness devices to track your ride data when you add DuoTrap S
- Internal cable routing extends the life of your cables and adds to the bike's sleek look
Make it your own
Customize your bike with fenders, racks, bottle cages, and more to make it your own.
Will my bike have a curved top tube?
Size Small frames have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. Larger frames (M and up) have a straight top tube because taller riders typically don't have the same issues.
1x drive train
A 1x10 drivetrain means more versatility, simpler shifting and fewer things to go wrong. You still have a wide range of gears, but with lighter and more intuitive shifting. Everything you need and nothing more.
Massive tire clearance
Accommodates 700x45c tires with fenders, or a 29"x2.1" MTB tire without fenders.
Rack & fender ready
Built-in mounts make it easy to add racks and fenders for added versatility.
Internal cable routing
We route shift and brake cables through the frame to keep things clean and simple. And it looks great, too.
Tough Bontrager Hard-Case tires help keep flats from slowing you down.
DuoTrap S compatible
DuoTrap S (sold separately) integrates a Bluetooth®/ANT+ sensor into the frame. Log routes and track fitness progress on your computer or smart phone with no external sensor. Works with all major ANT+ wireless players, including Bontrager, Garmin, PowerTap, and SRM.

Sizing & Tech
The charts below show our recommended sizes based on height, but there are some other factors, like arm and leg length, that determine a great fit. That’s why you’ll see some overlap in our recommendations. Not every rider who’s 5´8˝, for example, will fit on the same size bike. The best way to find your perfect fit is to consult the experts at your local retailer.
