Are all Bontrager helmets transitioning to the Trek brand?

Yes, all Bontrager helmets will be rebranded to Trek.  The Quantum is one of many helmets to undergo this transition.

What is the difference between the new Quantum and the old versions?

We're glad you asked, a lot has changed about the new generation. Overall, this helmet has been redesigned to better meet the needs of today's mountain biker. The helmet now features WaveCel helmet safety technology as well as deeper coverage at the back. The Quantum also includes a three-position visor and sunglasses storage. This helmet is now a feature-rich half shell ready for your next off-road adventure.

What type of bike helmet technology does the Trek Quantum feature?

The Trek Quantum bike helmet features Trek's exclusive WaveCel helmet safety technology. WaveCel has been updated with the release of this helmet, it is now lighter and cooler than the previous generation of WaveCel. Making it even more comfortable for the rider.

What is WaveCel?

WaveCel is a collapsible cellular material that lines the inside of your helmet. It’s designed to lessen the rotational forces associated with brain injury by going through a three-step change in material structure. See this process in action by visiting the WaveCel page, which can be found at the following link:

What has changed with this generation of WaveCel?

This next generation of WaveCel material offers the same level of protection as the prior generation but is now lighter and cooler. The WaveCel cells are now larger and the material usage has been optimised throughout, reducing the liner's weight and improving it's overall cooling efficiency. The end result? A more comfortable ride with the same level of protection.

Who created WaveCel?

WaveCel was created by a team of doctors, researchers, and engineers who have been studying head injury prevention for the last 15 years. During this time, they’ve received multiple National Institute of Health (NIH) grants to support their work. Find out more by visiting our WaveCel page by visiting the following link.
