Susan Mele

Age: 39
Hometown: Bel Air, Maryland
Nickname: Stinky

Susan is best described as a "one woman show" and her talent certainly came to life in her essay where she so poignantly described her bike as her "saving grace" during her 40 months of pregnancy, 210 pound weight gain (and weight loss), 48 months of nursing, and the hormonal battlefield she called her body. Her viewpoint is a laugh a minute and surely something most women can relate to.As an advocate for using a bike, Susan invites you into her world. Learn more about how she uses her Trek WSD Madone while tending to four children, performing her one woman shows, event planning and traveling around the world. Her energy is contagious.

Marie Westrope

Marie is 60 years old and very proud of each and every one of those years. As a mother, a daughter, a sister and a caregiver, Marie has recently entered a new chapter in her life as a widow with a very large promise to live out for her loved one. She captured our attention with her calm and positive personality. Tackling a new sport and lifestyle at 60 years of age, Marie has broken down more barriers than most 38-year olds. Her story of achievement is impressive and inspirational. Stay tuned as Marie takes on more challenges and achieves more victories.

Stephanie Brodegard

Most desired super powers: Flying and shooting laser beams out of her eyes

From the second she told us, "I stole my first bike," Stephanie had us hooked. But in the end it was her true love affair with cycling that sealed the deal. From how she saved money for six months for a new set of wheels that cost more than her first car, to that Zen feeling she still gets from truing a wheel, it was clear Stephanie Brodegard was one of us. After only two years of riding, she says things like, "I know what cadence means and how many watts is a lot. I can fix a flat in my sleep and tell the difference between a pinch flat and goat head at 50 yards." This is a woman in love with cycling, clearly falling hard and fast. Without a doubt you will be intrigued by Stephanie's cycling journey — her love affair — as well.

Laura MacLean

Age: 38

Occupation: Communications expert specializing in social issues for a public health consulting firm
Pastime: Traveling abroad; spends every New Year's Eve in a different European city

An inspiration to everyone who reads her story, Laura enjoys every minute of life. Laura shares the trials and tribulations of her journey to lose a person, yes, a 130 lb extra person she carried with her until she reached her personal weight loss goal in March 2007. She describes her experience as the easiest and the hardest thing she has ever done and yet her journey is far from over. Her Trek 5000 WSD will certainly come in handy as she pedals forward to maintain her weight loss, complete her first triathlon, plan trips abroad with her bike and her best friends and put herself out there in the dating world. "Take That Cancer!" was Jen's mantra last September as she crossed the finish line at the Danskin Tri, her proudest moment to date. She pushed herself in ways that she never thought possible.
