A legitimate game changer for cyclocross
From the hydraulic brakes and electronic shifting to the tech packed frame, Sven Nys won't be the only one leaving his long time lvoer and smooching this new rig from Trek
Only once in a great while does a bike come along that truly changes the game. The new Boone does just that. The IsoSpeed 'decoupler' offers an uncannily smooth ride that no other cross bike can match… The performance benefits it imparts are real and significant.
If you’re looking for a highly capable cyclocross race bike, the Boone will not disappoint. It’s a well-refined race bike, with perfect geometry, great ride quality, and it’s noticeably lighter than many carbon bikes we’ve tested.
This is an exceptional race bike with a compliant ride, great parts spec, and the ability to do double duty as an “adventure” roadster. Indeed, if we could own only one drop-bar bike, the Boone just might be the one.
Quotes: "Technically, the most exciting frame of all. Rides like it has tubulars. The trick with the joint in the frame works." "The rear triangle flexes great, the seat is very comfortable. Perfect for the second half of the race, when you start to get tired."
We really liked the Domane, but we love the Boone. The IsoSpeed decoupler debuted on the Domane but its spiritual home is clearly the 'cross course. With all due respect to Spartacus, the decoupler was born for the dirt, grass, and sand. On the right course, the Boone will literally ride away from the competition
This is a fabulous bike to race and train on, or to just ride around. Cyclocross legend Sven Nys says it’s perfect.
