Responsibilities:
Perform the duties of a trail worker, including heavy reconstructive trail work
Maintain tools and equipment
Function well as a member of a work crew
Maintain highest quality of work standards
Be an active participant in group working situations
Work individually and with crew, under direction of Jim’s Trail Management group
Patrolling property for any trespassers and escorting off property or calling the authorities.
Employment Requirements:
Successful completion of motor vehicle background check
Have
Be in good physical condition. Specific duties include performing manual, physical labor for up to 8 hours per day.
Must possess current required first aid certification & CPR by the start date.
Experience with conservation work skills or related, ie. Carpentry, construction, landscaping, gardening, masonry.
Knowledge of hand tool use and care
Knowledge of power tool use and care
Ability to follow instruction without close supervision.
Superior Candidates:
Two years experience operating backhoes, mini trackhoes, trail dozers, ATV’s, mountain bikes in the construction and maintenance of multiple use trails; two years experience constructing trail features such as bridges, log and rock cribwalls, stairs, water bars; two years experience constructing post and rail fences and wire fences; two years experience operating chainsaws and power augers.
Desired Skills:
-Experience with trail maintenance and reconstruction
-Chainsaw Safety Certification
