About the collection /
The idea behind Eco Design is simple: build bikes better. We engineer and manufacture our Eco Design bikes for maximum utility and minimum impact through all three stages of their existence: birth, life, and afterlife. It’s the circle of life, on two wheels.
Building bikes better
Take a quick spin with Trek industrial designer Michael Leighton for an inside look at the hows and whys of the development of Belleville, our original Eco Design model.
Everything considered. /
-
Birth
Our Eco bikes are produced using responsibly sourced steel, a greener alternative to aluminum frames. We powder-coat each new frame, a less wasteful and less toxic alternative to traditional paint processes.
-
Life
The best way to keep something out of a landfill is to give it a long useful life. Belleville and Atwood are designed for longevity and adaptability, with sturdy construction, smart utility features, and timeless styling.
-
Afterlife
Nothing lasts forever, so we make our Eco Design bikes with easy disassembly and recyclability in mind. An Eco Design bike never dies, it just becomes something new. Maybe even another Eco Design bike.
