Back in January, Trek launched ‘The Trek Fitness Challenge’ as part of its exciting collaboration with ‘Health and Fitness Magazine’ for the upcoming 'The Outdoor Show' at Birmingham NEC on 14th to 16th March.

We have scoured the lengths and breadths of the UK for four enthusiastic women to partake in the challenge culminating in their participation in the endurance event of all events: Bontrager TwentyFour12 at Newnham Park, Plymouth on 26th and 27th July. We will be closely following their every bike-related move as they prepare for this tough experience, from the high’s to the low’s….and the in-between’s.

Our formidable four ladies are Amy Cooper, Liz Sharpley, Gemma Evans and Vibeke Viby Jakobsen and they were carefully selected from a significant number of competition entrants. We have since kitted them out with appropriate cycling gear befitting a Trek Fitness Challenger and a brand spanking new full suspension bike each – the new Fuel EX8 WSD and Fuel EX9, which will certainly help them to accomplish the task.

And you don’t have to wait for us to bring you news on how they are getting on; the ladies have an ongoing blog on the ‘Health and Fitness Magazine’ website:

Be sure to check them out and also watch this space for more news on the ladies’ journeys.

You can also see the bikes they are riding (see links to the left).
