Story Highlights

  • Tim Don rides new Madone to victory.

This last weekend, 4th/5th August), saw the Michelob Ultra London Triathlon run under the hottest sun we've had all year! Working on the Michelob Ultra/Trek stand in the Expo, I just had Arrow's greatest hit going through my head, 'I'm feelin' hot, hot, hot!' I guess sweltering was more accurate.

It was a pretty hot day for Tim Don as well, as he raced through the searing sunshine to take the win after a swim in the Thames that set him up nicely for the 40k bike section and a great run that took him to the podium.

Tim's strong showing in the bike section was a great showcase for the new Trek Madone that had been delivered to him specially for this event and put together by the tireless Glen at Pedal Power in Loughborough. Thanks again Glen. Riding the same frame used to devastating success in the Tour de France by the Discovery Channel team, and equipped with Bontrager wheels, the bike is lighter than his previous  Madone 6.9, a fact that wasn't lost on Tim.

The Madone 5.2 and 5.5 have recently arrived in the UK and can be seen at dealers all over the UK.
