It seems a little out of place with the date still comfortably within August, but for some people the ‘Cross season can’t start early enough. It would appear that the Trek product managers agree as the 2009 XO series of cyclo-cross bikes have just hit the warehouse and will be appearing in stores across the country very soon. Most sizes are available unless you’re on the tall side with 60cm and 62cm yet to arrive.

The bikes follow on with Trek’s colour coordinating that runs right through the road and MTB lines, so the SRAM Rival levers benefit from red hoods and the chosen Bontrager Race Lite saddle comes complete with red details. White cable outers and white spokes for the Bontrager wheels complete the rather dapper look.

Pictures of the new bike won’t be on the website until the end of this month so in the meantime, feast your eyes on the lush XO2 here.

The bike should be retailing for about £1600 whilst the XO1 will run at about £1100.
