(Waterloo, WI)—Trek Bicycle, the world leader in bicycle technology and innovation, announced today its multi-faceted support for America’s largest statewide mountain bike race series, the Wisconsin Off Road Series (WORS).

Trek will be the presenting sponsor of the Subaru Cup Pro XCT race held June 26 and 27 in Mt. Morris, WI. As part of USA Cycling’s Pro XCT national race series and a WORS event, the Subaru Cup Pro XCT will bring elite-level professional athletes to central Wisconsin to battle for points and overall series position.

Trek’s Top Fuel, the pinnacle of cross country race bikes, will be the official bicycle of WORS throughout the 2010 season.

“We’re extremely lucky to have WORS here in Wisconsin,” said Trek MTB Brand Manager Michael Browne. “The series is a huge asset to the Midwest’s MTB community and a great ambassador of the sport. Sponsoring WORS is an obvious choice for Trek, and we’re excited to expand our partnership in 2010.”

Now in its 19th season, WORS averages over 600 racers and 800 spectators per event at each of 12 distinct venues throughout Wisconsin. With races for all ages and abilities and a focus on rider and spectator fun, WORS never fails to provide a great family-friendly weekend for recreational and competitive cyclists alike. WORS provides outstanding competitive challenges for professional MTB racers, 6-year-old weekend warriors, and everyone in between.

As the official bicycle of WORS, Trek’s Top Fuel is the ultimate race rig for any WORS participant. A revolutionary full OCLV Carbon crossbow frame, 100mm of front and rear travel, and a ridiculously light component package make the Top Fuel the weapon of choice for elite-level cross country athletes who require the highest level of performance.
