Trek: Trek At The Olympics: Part Four

Day 4

Today is another rest day before the big Olympic Time Trial. Team USA can realistically hope for as many as three medals: Kristin Armstrong, David Zabriske and of course, Trek-favorite Levi Leipheimer. But we should not forget Christine Thornburn as an outside favorite.

When we spoke to David and Levi a couple days ago, they both felt good and were looking forward to the race. David, who crashed out of this year's Giro, said he felt completely mended and was anxious for race day. I think Levi, whose Astana team was not included in this year's Giro, has something to prove and will be giving it his all.

One great thing about the Olympics is that you end up in a city full of the World's top athletes. Last night one Trek China employee ran into Kobe Bryant at beach volleyball—often mistakenly referred to as "bikini volleyball" by the local Chinese—while other Trek staff ran into most of the CSC Tour de France team at one hospitality area.
